North Coast Community Homes' mission is to develop high-quality, comfortable, and safe homes where individuals living with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges can lead lives of independence, self-expression, and connection.
Annually, NCCH will recognize homes based on the effort invested in ensuring that the home environment is comfortable and well-kept for the residents. NCCH staff and leadership nominate properties for recognition as the "House of the Year" or "Most Improved."
This year, a team of judges visited nine homes over three weeks to meet residents and caregivers, to see firsthand the efforts the team of care providers takes to create a comfortable and well-kept home.
NCCH maintenance and landscaping team members identify homes for consideration following nomination criteria, including; quality of upkeep, maintenance, and landscaping of the exterior house and yard. The evaluation of the inside of the home focuses on how well the home is maintained.
A property manager and landscape associate support each NCCH home. The Annual Home tour is part of the organization's efforts to elevate expectations for how each of our over 200 homes is maintained. The Annual Tour of Homes also recognizes the in-home care provider organization's commitment to partnering with NCCH to provide the best home environment for the residents.
NCCH is more than just four walls and a roof. NCCH opens doors to boundless opportunities for men and women living with disabilities to lead secure, productive, and self-directed lives. The NCCH Annual Tour of Homes punctuates efforts to work with families, caregivers, partner organizations, and a community of supporters to ensure NCCH houses are adapted and maintained for safety and comfort.
