Runners and walkers celebrated community inclusion and ran beyond boundaries to support NCCH Boundless Race You Home, a 5k run and 1-mile stroll, held at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, on Sunday, September 18.
This inaugural fundraising event was organized to support the goal of North Coast Community Homes (NCCH) to provide stable, safe, and supportive home options for individuals living with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.
Jillian Frazier, NCCH Chief Development Officer, stated, “Boundless Race You Home was planned to create awareness for the need of supportive home environments and invite the community to join our efforts to provide independence, opportunity, and community for our residents.”
The event raised $30,000 to support the annual housing cost for each resident. Event sponsors included The Sylvia and Oliver Heath Foundation, The Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities, The Edquist Family, One Seven, Fifth Third Bank, Comfort MD, and Cornerstone IT.
“Annually, North Coast Community Homes invest over $9,000 in operational services for each resident” offered Frazier. “We are working to change the community landscape and move beyond boundaries to fulfill the fundamental needs of our residents. Boundless Race You Home was an opportunity to gain community involvement in our mission to help individuals with disabilities to thrive.”
With the support of many donors, volunteers, and professionals, NCCH serves over 600 individuals and manages nearly 200 community-based homes in neighborhoods across Northeast Ohio.
