“What will happen to Kevin when we’re gone?”
That’s the gut-wrenching question parents must answer every day on behalf of their developmentally disabled child. Today, we provide homes in more than 60 cities across Northeast Ohio, but there is still such great need, with more than 900 developmentally disabled people waiting for homes.
What will happen to them without North Coast Community Homes?
In 1984, North Coast Community Homes (NCCH) was created with the mission to develop and maintain safe, high quality homes in Northeast Ohio for individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness and other disabilities. Many of the wonderful individuals we serve have no family or have aging parents who can’t as easily meet the growing demands for care. In keeping with our mission, our homes are safe, comfortable, and affordable, and are designed to empower persons with disabilities to live fuller, more independent lives. To date, NCCH has provided more than 230 homes in six counties and helped more than 1,000 individuals, but there is a long waiting list of others in need. Alone, NCCH can only do so much. That’s why your help is so critical—to ensure that families don’t have to live in fear of what will happen once they are no longer able to care for and protect their loved ones from the difficulties they face.
