Carol and Barbara are energetic and lively. We need to make their old bathroom wheelchair accessible so they don’t slip and fall.
We’ve been blessed to have Carol and Barbara in one of our homes for over a decade. These lovely ladies are active musicians and entertainers who happen to be blind and live with other disabilities. They love being in their home. We love having them with us.
Unfortunately, Carol and Barbara are getting older. Some of the activities they’re used to simply aren’t as easy. We want to keep them safe AND help them maintain as much independence as they can. Their caregivers have noticed that the ladies are sometimes struggling to step in and out of the tub. A grab bar is a fix, for now. Soon, however, we really need to remove the tub and install a barrier-free shower with a fold-down seat. While we’re doing that, we should also install a higher seat toilet and fix the vanity so it is wheelchair accessible, in case that becomes a need in the future.
Renovations like these are costly. The estimates have come in around $18,000. It’s a cost we simply cannot and will not pass on to Carol and Barabara. It’s also too important to wait for an unfortunate accident to happen.
We’re asking for your help. Can you chip in $20, $50, or even $500 to help? If you’re someone who has the means to give more, we’d welcome that as well. But please know, every dollar helps.
We’re appreciative of your generosity and thankful you’re helping us keep Carol and Barabara safe in the home they love! Thank you!
