In Northeast Ohio, there are over 500,000 people living with a disability. Of those, over 110,000 live at or below poverty. For some, having a safe, well-maintained place to call home seems impossibly out of reach. But at North Coast Community Homes, we believe that a safe, comfortable, and affordable home should be within reach for everyone – especially Ohio’s most vulnerable. It’s the reason we do what we do.
NCCH owns and manages over 200 homes in multiple counties across Northeast Ohio. We serve over 700 of the most vulnerable people, and we’re growing so we can serve many more.
We integrate our homes into the community so that a disability or mental illness isn’t something hidden away. Instead, each individual is seen as beautiful, unique, worthy of a home.
But it isn’t easy and the rents we charge do not cover our costs and all the work we need to do. Last year our small maintenance team of seven people received over 3,000 maintenance requests! That’s in addition to the regularly scheduled maintenance work they do on a daily basis. Additionally, we have larger expenses, like replacing roofs or installing whole-home sprinkler systems and fire suppression systems so that the people we serve are safe and protected!
On average, rent in an NCCH home is very, very low; ranging from only $271 to about $446 per month. The only way that we can keep rent low and do all the work we do is through your generous support. We also want to serve more people, provide more support, enrich more lives, and ensure that we’re having a powerful positive impact in the community. You can help make that happen!
But we know we aren’t in this alone. It’s through the generous support of people who care, that we’re able to serve this important community and make lives better.
