Developmental disabilities are a group of conditions due to an impairment in physical, learning, language, or behavior areas. These conditions may impact day-to-day functioning throughout a person’s lifetime.

Intellectual disability is a term used when there are limits to a person’s ability to learn at an expected level and function in daily life. Levels of intellectual disability vary greatly. Individuals with intellectual disability might have a hard time letting others know their wants and needs and taking care of themselves.

Men and women with disabilities need a home and community for the same reasons anyone else does—to stay well, active, and fulfill their basic level of human needs.

We integrate our homes into the community so that a disability or mental illness isn’t something hidden away. Instead, each individual is seen as beautiful, unique, worthy of a home.
