It’s that time of year again. The holidays are almost upon us. Before we’re swept up in the hussle and bussle of shopping, events, and everything else, we thought it was important to take a moment and reflect on what’s important – all that we have to be thankful for.
Some of the North Coast Community Homes team wants to share a little of what makes us thankful, energized, and motivated. We hope it inspires you to consider what you might be thankful for as well.
“When, on a daily basis you meet people young and old struggling with physical and/or mental disabilities, it’s very easy to count your blessings and be thankful. It gives me great satisfaction when I can make someone’s surroundings nicer or a task even a little easier for them. Working for North Coast Community and Accessible Homes gives me that opportunity.”
“Going to a home and the residents want to show you their room and one turns and says ‘I love my home.'”
“One thing I am thankful for is my immediate landscape team for having my back and not skipping a beat while I was out on a medical leave earlier in the year. What gets me motivated is knowing that we are creating a landscape environment for our tenant to enjoy and hopefully make them feel like they’re part of the neighborhood.”
“The 2018 Resident/Provider picnic was a huge success, as it is every year. Just seeing the happy faces, being able to dance and sing with the residents makes me happy and smile all year long when I think of them and how much fun they had.”
“I am thankful to be given the opportunity to make a difference in our residents lives.”
“I’m thankful everyday for the NCCH housing we have in Summit County for our Severe Mental Illness tenants that gives hope and new beginnings to so many great people!”
“I get to share our Mission with many people in Ohio and I always get a deep sense of satisfaction knowing that what we do makes a difference in a life everyday.”
“I am thankful for a supportive team at NCCH! No task was too big or too small! Everyone was always willing to chip in and help at every event!”
“A special memory I have is one of our tenets telling me he was going to call my boss and say I needed a $1 million raise! He must have never called because I’m still waiting for that raise.”
“I am thankful to have been welcomed into the NCCH / NCAH “Family” with such open arms. It is gratifying to work for an organization where I really jump out of bed each and every morning looking forward to what the day will bring and knowing that we have a team here that can handle and support our Mission.”
“I enjoyed seeing our newest residents in Lake County as they visited their newly renovated home. Just hearing them say again and again…’This is my house? I get to live here? Wow.'”
“I get to see the residents on a regular basis and I see how special that they are and how they love their homes.”
